A Simple Exercise to Put Your Blessings into Perspective

Is today a "down" day? Are your children suffering from a serious case of the "ungrateful bug"? Do you feel distracted and unfocused in your walk with God?

Here's a simple exercise to put your blessings back into their proper perspective.

STEP 1: Get a piece of paper and something with which to write. STEP 2: Read Psalm 124. A Song of Ascents. Of David.

___ If it had not been the LORD who was on our side— _____ let Israel now say— ___ if it had not been the LORD who was on our side _____ when people rose up against us, ___ then they would have swallowed us up alive, _____ when their anger was kindled against us; ___ then the flood would have swept us away, _____ the torrent would have gone over us; ___ then over us would have gone _____ the raging waters.

___ Blessed be the LORD, _____ who has not given us _____ as prey to their teeth! ___ We have escaped like a bird _____ from the snare of the fowlers; ___ the snare is broken, _____ and we have escaped!

___ Our help is in the name of the LORD, _____ who made heaven and earth.
