Video of Debate on Homosexuality

On July 16, 2012 in Columbus Ohio, Patrick Donahue debated Margaret Hawk on this question: “Homosexual Marriage: Is it Compatible with the Scriptures?” Donahue denied and Hawk affirmed.

In Acts 17:11, Jews in the city of Berea were commended by Luke as being “more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” In 1 John 4:1, John warns, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

This debate provided a good opportunity to examine the Scriptures and test the spirits.

    I have not yet seen a debate with someone from the Church and someone who “attempts” to defend homosexuality in debate form. I thought Mr. Donahue did a good job on this topic. I appreciate you providing it on your website. Thank you.

    do you know of any results of the debate? I have never heard the use of “The Word of God” to limit the rest of the Bible as the person who defended homosexuality used it. Thanks for posting it.

      There were a number of things Ms. Hawk affirmed that I had never heard either, Barbara. Thanks for watching. As for results, having the video and audio available for any who are interested in studying the issue is a good thing. Good seeds were planted. We’ll pray for God-glorifying fruit to be borne.
