Go Faster By Going Slower

April 17, 2008 — Leave a comment

For all of you space buffs out there, did you know when astronauts orbit the earth, the slower they go, the faster they go? Here’s how it works. As their shuttle slows down, the earth’s gravity brings it closer to our planet – causing a tighter orbit and faster speed. When the shuttle accelerates, it moves away from the earth and its orbit is larger and, therefore, the spacecraft moves slower. It’s one of those tricky equations none of us could figure out in Algebra II.

In the same way, often fathers move faster by moving slower. More is accomplished with your children in downtime conversations than rushing to one practice after another. Be a better father by tapping on the brakes and enjoying your children.
