None Of Self

Higher than the highest heavens,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lord, Thy love at last has conquered,
“None of self, and all of Thee.”

There it is.   The great goal of the disciple of Christ.   The ideal as defined by the Son of God in Mark 8:34-35.

What steps, regardless of how small, can you take throughout the day to allow your love of self to be conquered by the love of the One who gave His life for you?   What would a day really look like when lived with the simple motto: “None of self, and all of Thee”?   Are you up to the challenge?
