1 Peter 5: Cast Your Anxieties on God

Today’s Scripture reading is 1 Peter 5. While there’s much to learn from the entire chapter, spotlighting verses 6 and 7 seems to be appropriate at the start of a new work and school week.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

He is able to bear your anxieties. All of them.

He cares for you. Yes, you.

He graciously and patiently invites you to humble yourself under his mighty hand … the same hand that fashioned and upholds the universe.

He has promised, at the proper time, to exalt you.

If he is for us, who can be against us?

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Heb 13:6)
