Today's Bible Reading:

Living in the Light of His Holy and Awesome Name

By God’s design, names have always had significance.

Now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. (Gen 2:19)

If we are living for the sake of his name, taking a little while to reflect on some of the names or descriptions our Father in heaven has revealed to us is certainly worthwhile.

He sent redemption to his people;
he has commanded his covenant forever.
Holy and awesome is his name!
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!
