Our Builder, Watcher, and Provider is Worthy of Worship

Take your time with Psalm 127, meditating on the wise statements of Solomon.

Unless the LORD builds the house,
__ those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
__ the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early
__ and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
__ for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
__ the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
__ are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
__ who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
__ when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

While we might most frequently draw lessons about the home from Psalm 127, let me encourage you to use it as kindling to fuel your worship today.

Yahweh is a builder. Yahweh is a watcher. Yahweh is a loving provider.

Builder, watcher, provider.

Creator, protector, sustainer.

Worthy of worship.
