Jesus Died to Serve as a Fragrant Offering to God

Why Did Jesus Die

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Eph 5:1-2)

Jesus loved us. Because he loved us, he gave himself up for us. In love for us, he laid down his life as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Do more than remember his sacrifice today. Focus with faith on Jesus so that your own heart is inclined to imitate. As a beloved child, imitate your heavenly Father this week. Walk in love–the sort of love that motivated Jesus to die for you.
