A small dose of God-breathed perspective for the day:
For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2 Cor 5:1)
Tents are temporary. They serve a purpose, but I don’t know anyone who willfully intends to live in a tent long-term. We readily see the advantages of a more stable structure.
Think about what God has told you in 2 Corinthians 5:1. Your earthly home? It’s just a tent. Your physical body? Think of it as a temporary tarp. By all means, take care of it. You need it. Use it for its intended purpose, but be honest about the inherent limitations. It’s not going to last forever.
But Christians know something, because God has told us. We know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have access to an eternal building shaped by God himself.
Today, don’t allow yourself to become so shortsightedly enamored with the tent that you neglect to live for the heavenly house.
