A Reminder to Shape Your Perspective for the Day

God Shaped

We are a forgetful, easily distracted people, aren’t we? Isn’t that why we’re fascinated by this time of year? It’s an opportunity to be reminded, to refocus, to make resolutions. We want to devote ourselves more fully to those things that matter most, but the renewed perspective of January 1 can become cloudy by January 2.

Here’s a simple, God-breathed reminder to shape your approach to the day.

As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. (Eccl 11:5)

The God who makes everything is at work. He’s willing and able to shape you for your maximum joy and his transcendent glory. How will he accomplish this? What will it involve? At what cost? “You do not know.” And that’s alright.

Your responsibility today? Do the next right thing. Walk in his wisdom. Follow in the footsteps of his Son. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Trust and obey.
