Day 5 of Powerful Prayer

32 Days of Powerful Prayer

Scripture for the Day: “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word…” (John 17:20)

Thought for the Day: Jesus not only prayed for the apostles, but for those who would believe in him through the apostles’ work and example. The principle lives on. God uses ordinary people to share the gospel, provide encouragement, and maintain accountability. Spiritual mentors should be greatly appreciated and prayed for often. Their efforts in our lives have the distinct power to echo in eternity.

Seeds for Today’s Prayers: “Father, thank you for preserving the prayer of your Son when he prayed for the apostles and those of us who have believed in you through them. Thank you for the spiritual mentors in my life who provide much-needed instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction, and exhortation. Use me, as you see fit, in the lives of my fellow believers.”
