Day 28 of Powerful Prayer

32 Days of Powerful Prayer

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27th  •  THANKSGIVING FOR THE INTERCEDING SPIRIT

Scripture for the Day: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Rom 8:26)

Thought for the Day: What a comfort and encouragement to know that God is aware of and responsive to our weaknesses. Not knowing what to pray for or how to express the heaviest burdens of our hearts is an all-too-common obstacle. The Holy Spirit himself is a faithful intercessor for God’s child.

Seeds for Today’s Prayers: “Father, I am weak, needy, and truly dependent on you. There are so many times I feel inadequate in prayer. Thank you for the promise that your Spirit intercedes for me. When I don’t know what to pray for, may I be bold enough to continue pouring my heart out to you in faith.”
