Day 15 of Powerful Prayer

32 Days of Powerful Prayer

MONDAY, OCTOBER 14th  •  THE SOURCE OF TRUE STRENGTH

Scripture for the Day: “Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD and spread it before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD and said: ‘O LORD, the God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. Incline your ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see…’” (2 Kings 19:14-16)

Thought for the Day: This was a time of tremendous stress in Hezekiah’s life. Sennacherib, king of Assyria, was taunting, boasting against, and threatening the people of God. Hezekiah brought Sennacherib’s letter before the LORD, spread it out, and prayed to the Source of true strength.

Seeds for Today’s Prayers: “Father, I spread the burdens of my heart before you. Incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see. You are the Source of true strength. You are greater than my burdens.”
