Nelson Minar, a software engineer at Google, writes:
I just completed a project I’ve been working on for a few weeks, a vector tile map of American rivers based on the NHDPlus dataset. It’s mostly a demo project with readable source, but it’s also kind of pretty.
Minar has mapped every river in the contiguous United States.
Here’s a portion of Mississippi.
And California.
Now, take the time to read Psalm 65:9-13, where David addresses the “God of our salvation”:
___ You visit the earth and water it;
_____ you greatly enrich it;
___ the river of God is full of water;
_____ you provide their grain,
_____ for so you have prepared it.
___ You water its furrows abundantly,
_____ settling its ridges,
___ softening it with showers,
_____ and blessing its growth.
___ You crown the year with your bounty;
_____ your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.
___ The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
_____ the hills gird themselves with joy,
___ the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
_____ the valleys deck themselves with grain,
_____ they shout and sing together for joy.
Praise is due to you, O God. (Psa 65:1)
Indeed.
