Who Am I To Answer Back To God? (Romans 9)

Romans: The Greatest Letter Ever Written

Jesus Christ is a “living stone” in the pathway of every human being (1 Peter 2:4-5).   Some will build and base every aspect of life on him as a foundation.   Some will reject and stumble over him to their own destruction.   You have done, are doing, and will do something in relation to this stone.

In Romans 9, Paul speaks of his “great sorrow and unceasing anguish” for his “kinsmen according to the flesh” who were stumbling in disbelief over Jesus as the Christ.   He dwells on the tragedy of wasted potential.   Finally, he carefully establishes that—regardless of what human beings do—God’s purposes will stand.   “Who are you, O man, to answer back to God?”
