A Slave Of Righteousness

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).   That has been our meditation for the last few days.   You and I have been encouraged to “lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely” (Hebrews 12:1), claiming the freedom that is offered through Jesus the Christ.

But here is today’s important thought.   God expects more than my determination to escape from the clutches of sin and death.   Take a careful look at Romans 6:17-18.

Therein lies my challenge for you today.   What will you do to show yourself—not just a believer in goodness or an admirer of holiness—but a slave of righteousness?   At the end of the day, will your humble service for the Master have been evident to the people around you?   Will you have made your Father proud?
