I preached a sermon yesterday in a series on growing in spiritual maturity entitled Slowing My Pace. The hymn from yesterday is a wonderful reminder of our Creator’s encouragement to “be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
If you didn’t take the time to really reflect on the lyrics, go back over them and appreciate how:
- Verse 1 encourages us to slow down and contemplate the wonder of nature.
- Verse 2 counsels us to meditate on God’s written revelation.
- Verse 3 seeks to provoke more precious time in prayer.
- The Chorus anticipates perfect fellowship with God, of which our earthly fellowship is but a foretaste.
